The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) in UAE published the Technical Specification on Advanced Mobile Location(TS FS 004, Version 1.0) on February 2, 2024.

The Technical Specification applies to Mobile Terminals for use in the Public Mobile Radio Communication System as well as services in Cellular Networks.

Advanced Mobile Location (AML) is used to assist with emergency calls, and all mobile handsets must support AML features.

Effective March 2024, all mobile handsets entering the UAE must be compliant with these Technical Specifications.

AML testing is required and mandatory, the AML is related to testing advanced mobile location feature while making emergency calls.
