The India WPC Portal has been updated in accordance with GSR 47(E) regarding the “Use of Low Power and Very Low Power Wireless Access System including Radio Local Area Network in Lower 6 GHz Band (Exemption from Licensing Requirement) Rules, 2026.” issued on 20 January 2026. Applicants can now include the 6 GHz de-licensed frequency band (5945–6425 MHz) while applying for the WPC ETA-SD certificate.

Key Points:

New Applications:
The 6 GHz band (5945–6425 MHz) can now be included under ETA-SD filings.

Already Certified Devices:

If an existing certified device/model is now enabling 6 GHz (via software update or otherwise), applicants must:

  • Withdraw the existing ETA-SD certificate

  • Submit a fresh ETA-SD application

Special Cases:
In specific scenarios, applicants may approach WPC for guidance regarding certificate modification.
