Singapore IMDA published Technical Specification for Cellular Mobile Terminal (IMDA TS CMT Issue 1 Rev 4) on 6 March 2026. The summary of key point is as  following:Section 5.2.3 (on 2G disabling by default) shall be enforced on all mobile handsets effective 31 December 2026.

Section 5.4 (on Emergency cell broadcast) shall be enforced on all mobile handsets effective 1 April 2026.

Both sections exclude those devices that will reach End of Life (EOL) prior to the above enforcement dates.EOL refers to when product is no longer being sold in Singapore’s market. 

For registration of the mobile handsets, we will supply updated statement of compliance by incorporating the above requirements.
