Singapore: NEA issued Circular on ECA Amendment to Extend MEPS and MELS to Regulated Goods Imported for Own Use

2026-05-12

Singapore NEA had issued a circulars to inform that from 1 July 2026, Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) and Mandatory Energy Labelling Scheme (MELS) will be extended to Regulated Goods imported by end users/companies for their own use.

Similar to Regulated Goods supplied in Singapore, Regulated Goods that are imported for own use are required to comply with MEPS and MELS requirements as stated in the circular.

With effect from 1 July 2026, online platforms that advertise for supply of any Regulated Goods will have to ensure that the advertised Regulated Good is registered with NEA and complies with the prescribed labelling requirements.
