Mongolia: CRC Updates Certification Rules for Telecom Equipment (2026)

2026-03-31

Mongolia has introduced updated regulationsResolution No. 24 for ICT equipment certification on 13 February 2026, strengthening compliance requirements for market entry, the framework clarifies conformity assessment and certification procedures for telecom equipment.

Under the new rules, all listed telecom and ICT devices must obtain mandatory certification before import, sale, or use, while non-listed equipment may be certified on a voluntary basis.

Applicants are required to submit technical documentation, manufacturer declarations, and valid test reports covering safety, EMC, and RF compliance. International test reports may be accepted if recognized.

The certification process includes document review, testing, and, where necessary, factory inspections with decisions issued within 10 working days of a complete application.

Certificate validity varies by scheme, with durations of up to four years for import and domestic equipment, and three years for export and sample-exempt cases.

The framework also introduces annual surveillance to ensure ongoing compliance, with non-compliant products subject to corrective actions or certificate revocation.

Furthermore, once a conformity certificate is granted, manufacturers are authorized and required to apply the official 'Certification Mark' to their equipment.

To enhance transparency, the CRC will publish details of certified equipment, helping prevent non-compliant devices from entering the market.
